Profile

My name is Chijike Dikeogu. I am a 3D Artist specializing primarily in 3D environment art and narrative design. Due to my background in indie development and information technology, I also work as a Technical Artist. My work centers on extreme depth in world building and systemic level design, using production friendly narrative systems and custom workflows designed for long term iteration.

Outside of the game development industry, my professional experience shifts toward more targeted technical roles. Those roles include CAD visualization, C# and .NET development, quality assurance test engineering, QA failure analysis, and related technical support work.

Extended Profile

I am a Technical Game Designer, 3D Artist, and Narrative Designer with a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Ottawa University in Kansas. While I say 3D Artist, I specialize primarily as a 3D Environment Artist.

Background Early Days

My journey into games began in elementary school with early titles like Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished (1987), Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader (2003), MechWarrior 2 (1995), and Super Mario Bros. 3. As I grew older, my passion deepened during the PlayStation 2 era.

Trigger for Narrative Designer

The turning point or trigger for viewing games as a career path came in middle school when I encountered Trails in the Sky series by Nihon Falcom and Samurai Warriors by Koei. Trails stood out with its detailed worldbuilding, while Samurai Warriors introduced me to the serious game’s genre. I used the latter to write a paper and create a poster presentation, which earned first place at the National History Day, Douglas County level competition and later second place at the state competition in Topeka, Kansas in 2007. This experience sparked my interest in narrative design. It didn’t help that my mother was a library director, English professor and Author which kept me surrounded by stories. It was at that time I also started getting into writing web lite novels in the genres of Fantasy, Isekai, Cultivation and Gender Bender and LGBT. It was also at this time that I got involved in both dungeons and dragons as well as Legend of the Five Rings groups.

Entered the Modding community & Trigger for 3D Art & Level Design

Later, I entered the modding community through the Valve Source Engine and titles like Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft. This expanded my interest in level design and 3D art. This would have been roughly the high school era where I entered college earlier than my peers. At the same time, I also worked for Land Trust working with GIS software and started communicating with one of my foreign family members who is an Architect. My desire for level design exploded.

Moved from Kansas to California to Join Apple

Eventually, I moved to Silicon Valley in 2019 where I was hired by Apple on two back-to-back contracts. First, I served as a Hardware Failure Analysis Test Engineer for iPhones and AirPods within the AppleCare team. After that, I supported an R&D team in Biophotonics, assisting with QA testing and developing a custom database for internal use.

Founding Subjective Reality Studios LLC

After leaving the Bay Area, I relocated to Bakersfield with an eye toward Los Angeles and remote opportunities. I went on to found Subjective Reality Studios LLC, an indie game development startup mostly geared at RPG, JRPG, Strategy, Serious Games, Visual Novels and the occasional 18+ Adult content title with all being made PC deployment. Here, I lead a 100% remote team with my focus being on 3D Environment Art, Level design, and Narrative Design. Driven by a deep appreciation for deep storytelling, I am committed to crafting immersive, meaningful, and systemically rich games that reflect the creativity and emotional impact of the titles that first inspired me.
